On celebrating the 150th year of Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday, Global Youth Peace Festival (GYPF) is back renewing the spirit and commitment to the Gandhian principles.

The event gathered youth delegates from all over the world to reflect upon what it means to leave no one behind. SociopreneurID’s founder and executive director, Dessy Aliandrina was honored with the Global Youth Icon, Chandigarh — India. At its 14th year presenting the event, GYPF was held from September 30th — October 2nd, 2019. Dessy presented on how our work in SociopreneurID is making a difference to the youth in Indonesia, along with two other awardees, Khairul Answar Mansoor, President of the Malaysian Humanitarian Movement and Sameer Garg, Managing Director of BillionAbles India.

Aligning with the inclusivity theme and Gandhian practices, we presented our ideas and practices in Developing Responsible Ecosystem consisting of hashtag#Historymaker, and how it can be achieved through empathy. With empathy, qualities like sensitivity, curiosity, caring will be developed, which further leads to skills like creativity, critical thinking, and most importantly lifelong learning mindset.
